Hello, friends:
It is that time of year again. The cold weather is coming and with it so increases our hay consumption.
As you likely know, our animals (horses and ruminants alike) rely on hay as the foundation of their health and diet, and this is especially true during the winter months. Earlier this year, we held a fundraiser to assist in purchasing top-quality hay from our supplier, which proved vital over the summer due to the drought in Virginia. However, our hay consumption is increasing as the temperatures drop – and feed prices, like so many things, have jumped considerably.
We have a wonderful hay supplier who delivers 14 bales at a time. Bales are $55 each, including deliver. We go through 6 bales a week, plus square bales numbering roughly a dozen a week.
We’re reaching out to ask if you might consider a donation to help us through the winter? Donations via PayPal, Facebook, and Venmo (@FeelBetterFarm) are welcome; if sending a check, please let us know that one is on the way.
