We’ve been asked to give this sweet girl a fighting chance.
This chestnut thoroughbred mare was purchased by a well-meaning family but once she arrived they realized they were in over their heads. The man who rescued Luna and got her to us was asked to come and get her before she went back to auction. He has a big heart, so he got her, no questions asked, and then looked to finding her a safe landing.
How can you look at this poor horse and say no?
I couldn’t.
We only need to reimburse him the price he paid for her, which was $500. $500 for this beautiful girl. But give her a few months and she’ll look like a million dollars.
Scuttlebutt is that she was part of a riding program in a past life. Let’s get her healthy and see what she wants to do with the rest of her life!
If you can help us reimburse her purchase price, any amount is much appreciated. She’ll need vetting, farrier, dental and a good amount of senior feed, too.
She’s also going to need a name. In a few day’s, once she’s had time to settle, we’ll see if her tattoo can be read at all, but if not, we have naming rights, so start thinking about something fitting.
